Blackboard Access | Print |

In addition to providing quality instruction and courses, the Sommelier program at Algonquin makes use of an innovative on-line learning platform - Blackboard.

Blackboard (Bb) allows students to access core course materials such as outlines and schedules; in some courses, condensed lecture notes, assignments and grades. The system also allows students to receive important course announcements and emails notifying them of changes to the course or curriculum. This information is accessible 24/7. Bb is only accessible to registered students of the College. New users first need to create an account.

The easy steps for creating your account, user name and password follow:

  1. Go to  the Algonquin College web site.
  2. Click ‘Student Portal’ (on left)
  3. Click ‘ACSIS’ (on right)
  4. Enter your student number
  5. Enter your birth date (see example) and ‘login’
  6. Create and enter your new password then ‘submit’
  7. This new page displays your User name and Password (finally!). Record this information in a safe place

To log on to Blackboard go to Blackboard login page and enter your new user name and password. This user name and password also allows you to use computers at the College.
